Title: Sweeter Than Chocolate
Author: Rachi (me :])
Characters: Gui Gui, Aaron Yan, Wang Zi
Disclaimer: I don't own them...if this actually happened in real life, it would be ridiculously cute...but it doesn't :] it's all a figment of my craaaazyy imagination.

♥Sweeter ♥Than ♥Chocolate♥ STCP

Forwards

Love?

She's been there and done that.

Same guy...multiple times.

Gui Gui has always liked Wang Zi. They've been friends since...forever and ever since she was old enough to "like", she's adored him. He's never rejected her but...hasn't exactly returned her feelings either.

In the eyes of their fans, they would make the perfect couple. Just think, Gui Gui, cute, spunky and the youngest member of Hey Girl and Wang Zi, charming, elegant and the youngest member of Lollipop...Together! What a perfect dream come true! A match made in heaven!

However, dreams don't always turn out the way they're supposed to.

When Wang Zi finally rejects Gui Gui, she's betrayed, hurt, and HATES love. Who needs it anyways?

...Until she meets Aaron Yan. He's a prince as well...just a different type. A more mature, less arrogant, and...just a bit cocky prince of the leading Taiwanese band, Fahrenheit.

What will happen when rivalries spark and personalities crash?

What was just a simple friendship and rejection turns into a love that Wang Zi never thought he'd want in the first place, that he never thought he would fight for.

What seemed to be a chance meeting actually is destiny and love..one that Aaron never thought he would encounter or want to hold on to.

She was rejected and hurt but now has a choice...

Who will she choose?

♥Sweeter ♥Than ♥Chocolate♥ Empty Chapter 1

Post by xxrachi_babexx 9/6/2009, 7:44 pm

“Yeah, you should hear her say his name!” Ya Tou said cheerfully, teasing Gui Gui. “WAAAANNGG ZIIIII! It’s so lovey-dovey!”
Gui Gui blushed. “I do NOT!”

She quickly stole a glance at Wang Zi. YES he was smiling!

“So what exactly are your feelings for him, Gui?” Blackie, the host asked as fans suddenly quieted down and stared at her, beckoning an answer.

"Uh, me?" Gui Gui looked around and suddenly caught Wang Zi's eye.

Should I say it? She thought quietly to herself. If I do, it could solve all my problems! I wouldn't have to hide it anymore!

"No, we're just friends." Gui Gui assured everyone and her eyes clouded over with disappointment as the crowd sighed audibly.

"Yeah definitely." Wang Zi added, smiling his charming smile at all his fans. "I mean, we're close to everyone in Hey Girl and Lollipop, it's mutual."

Gui Gui sighed and hoped no one saw. Of course they couldn't break their contract...especially not on live TV!

After the filming, everyone was backstage, getting all that makeup off and changing into more comfotable clothes.

"So they will be back again next week?" George, the director of Wo Ai Hei Se Hui asked.

"Mh-hm." Andy, Hey Girl and Lollipop's manager replied in a busy voice as he bustled around, dialing his cellphone. "Next week, yup."

"Yes, yes come pick them up now. Around the back!" He barked into the phone.

"Gui Gui!" Ya Tou hissed. "Why didn't you say how you felt??"

"What?" Gui Gui hissed back, looking around them to make sure Wang Zi hadn't heard. "You know I can't! It would break the contract!"

"Well the contract's stupid anyways." Ya Tou huffed. "You guys would be so cute together..."

Gui Gui managed to smile.

Good old Ya Tou, Gui Gui thought. Always there to cheer her up. She was probably her best friend in Hey Girl, but, like Wang Zi said, she was close to everyone.

Gui Gui turned around and peeked at Wang Zi, sitting with the rest of Lollipop at the other side of the room. He was saying something to Ao Quan.

I wonder what he what he thought about my reply? Gui Gui wondered. I mean, everyone thinks we'd be a cute couple..what does he think? I wish I had the courage to ask him...

All of a sudden, Xiao Xun took a seat next to Gui Gui, fixing her hair in the mirror.

"Hey!" She said and smiled at her.

"Hi, Xiao Xun." Gui Gui replied, smiling back. "When do we leave?"

"Um...I don't know...in around ten minutes or so." She turned to Gui Gui suddenly. "Hey, um..you know...about earlier?"

"Yeah?"

"When Blackie asked you about Wang Zi...You don't really feel that way, do you?"

"Uhh...not really no." Gui Gui replied, slightly surprised.

All the mei mei's knew about her crush on Wang Zi.

"Then why didn't you say it?" Xiao Xun asked, peering at Gui Gui through her mascara brush.

"Contract, remember?" Gui Gui reminded her. "I'd be fired!"

"So?" Xiao Xun said rather rudely.

Gui Gui looked at her in surprise.

"I mean, uh, that's only if you guys are going out, right? Just admitting your feelings for him doesn't do any harm."

"Well.."

Just then, Andy Ge yelled for everyone to file out by the entrance.

"Alright, well see you later Gui Gui!" Xiao Xun replied as she went to find Da Ya and Mei Mei.

"Oh..uh..ok."

"You know?" Ya Tou stared after Xiao Xun. "There's something weird with that girl."

"What do you mean?" Gui Gui asked, cocking her head to one side.

"I don't know...just a feeling I have...it must be just me." Ya Tou replied cheerfully in her childish voice.

They both laughed and joined the others by the door.

Just then, Gui Gui spotted Wang Zi's head in the midst of the crowd.

Grinning, she made her way over to him.

"Waaang Ziiii!" She yelled, exaggerating his name.

It was a little joke between them, from when they were shooting Brown Sugar Macchiato.

She finally got to him, to find him talking to Xiao Xun.

"Oh, hi Gui." He smiled at her.

"Where's my chcolate bar you promised me this morning?" Gui Gui asked, tapping her foot and holding out one hand. "You said you'd give me one if pinched Blackie."

"Haha, don't worry, I brought it." He began to dig in his pocket.

"Hey, Wang Zi," Xiao Xun cut in, giving him a hug. "I'll talk to you later, ok?"

"Oh..um ok." Wang Zi replied.

What was up with that? Gui Gui wondered. Could it be that Ya Tou's feeling was...right? ...no, no, she wouldn't. She knows I like Wang Zi. And we're friends, right?

"Here." Wang Zi held out a Kit-Kat bar, it's wrapper pink for valentines day. "Happy?"

Gui Gui grabbed it and laughed. "It's pink!"

"All this chocolate.." Wang Zi shook his head at Gui Gui. "You are so fat already."

"Am not!" Gui Gui replied and glared at him.

"Are too." Wang Zi teased her. "Look at you."

He poked her arm gently.

Gui Gui made her signiture pout face and Wang Zi made one right back at her.

"Picture, picture!" She yelled and grabbed her camera from her bag.

Laughing, they followed the others out the door.

♥Sweeter ♥Than ♥Chocolate♥ Empty Chapter 2

Post by xxrachi_babexx 9/6/2009, 7:45 pm

A few days passed and suddenly, it was Friday.
“Jesus.” Gui Gui complained on the car ride from Channel V studios to lunch. “I am sick of cameras! Sick of makeup! Sick, sick, sick!”

“Aww Gui, what happened to your usual happy self?” Mei Mei asked, giving Gui Gui a pat on the back. “It’s Friday, cheer up!”

“Yeah, and besides,” Xiao Man chirped. “Tonight, the Lollipop crew’s coming over for the after-party of Channel V’s new show. I also heard Andy Ge’s talking about another TV show in the works!”

“Mh, he might tell us about it tonight!” Apple added excitedly.

“Lollipop’s coming?” Gui Gui asked, not interested in the show at all. Her eyes suddenly lit up.

“Oh, I know what you’re thinking.” Da Ya grinned at the sight of Gui Gui’s ghostly smile. “Waaaannnngg Ziiiii will be there, huh?”

“Shut up.” Gui Gui grumbled. “You don’t even do it right.”

“WAAANNNNGGG ZIIIII!” Apple, Da Ya, and Ya Tou all yelled together at the top of their lungs.

“Hey!” Xiao Xun yelled from the back where she was sitting curled up with a book. “Hush, there’s people trying to read here.”

“That’d only be you, Xiao Xun.” Giggled Xiao Jie.

Xiao Xun glared at her but Gui Gui thought she saw Xiao Xun look her way first.
===========================================================
At the party:
===========================================================

“Ooh, sushi!” Gui Gui grinned and reached for it, chopsticks at the ready.

“Me first!” Wang Zi came out of nowhere, blocking Gui Gui’s chopsticks with his own.

“HEY!” Gui Gui narrowed her eyes at him and he glared back.

They then proceeded to have a chopstick fight, like they did when they were 5.

Mei Mei nudged Xiao Yu.

“Just look how cute they are!” She whispered. “Why won’t they just hurry up and go out already?”

“Eh,” Xiao Yu replied, wolfing down his food. “You know Wang Zi, he doesn’t like to rush things.”

Soon everyone spread out on the dance floor. They were in the basement of Hey Girl’s penthouse and it was huge. There were a lounging couches pressed up to the walls, tables to the side, and a huge DJ desk up front. Overall, the room had a very modern feel, with its white walls and glass.

Just then Andy Ge got up on the stage, a microphone in hand.

“Over here, people!” He announced and everyone looked at him, quieting down.

“He’s going to tell us about the new show on Channel V!” Da Ya whispered excitedly to Gui Gui and she nodded, still looking over at Wang Zi, who was talking to Ah Wei.

“As you all have heard, we have a new upcoming show on Channel V.” He announced and everyone cheered.

They all loved going to the show premiers and watching them.

“We are collaborating with GTV on what we hope to be another successful show. We have decided on the name of this new show: Pi Li MIT or Mysterious Incredible Terminator!”

Everyone started asking questions at once.

“Hold on, hold on!” Andy Ge shouted over the noise and waved his hands. “I’ll get to all of that but first I have some news for you! One of the members of Hey Girl! will be chosen to act in it as the female main character, Li Xiao Xing, starring opposite Aaron Yan, of Fahrenheit!”

He paused for the desired effect and all the mei mei’s began talking amongst themselves excitedly.

“Aaron Yan!” Apple jumped up and down. “I love him! He’s so cute!”

“I hope it’s me!” Mei Mei stared off into space with a dreamy look in her eyes. “How cute would we be together?”

“Aren’t you excited?” Ya Tou asked Gui Gui, her eyes shining with excitement.

“Who’s Aaron Yan?” Gui Gui replied, looking completely blank.

“You’re kidding!” Da Ya scolded her, shaking her shoulders. “Yan Ya Lun? Of Fahrenheit??”

“Hmm..” Gui Gui thought about it, not excited at all. “That name rings a bell.”

“Oh come on!” Da Ya looked to Ya Tou, exasperatedly. “Fahrenheit! Only the hottest band ever!”

“I know you meant second to Lollipop, of course.” Ao Quan strolled over and tried to put his arm around Da Ya.

“Oh whatever.” Da Ya replied, rolling her eyes. “You guys would definitely win for being the cockiest, most-“

“I remember!” Gui Gui interrupted. “Aren’t they the guys from…”

She snapped her fingers.

“Um..Um K.O ONE right?”

“Thank goodness you’re not completely out of it, Gui!” Mei Mei laughed, poking Gui Gui in the arm.

“Oh…yeah it’d be fun I guess.” Gui Gui replied nonchalantly.

The other mei mei’s began drooling over them again and Gui Gui wandered over to Wang Zi.

“Am I really that out of it?” Gui Gui asked him grumpily.

“Yup.” Wang Zi replied. “All the time.”

“Why, you-“ Gui Gui raised her arm, trying to pinch him.

Wang Zi caught it in midair and pulled her close.

Oh My God. She thought, blinking her eyes and smiling to herself. Ahhh we are so close!!

“Dork.” He laughed at her and let her go.

“Am not.” Gui Gui protested, laughing.

“I will announce the lucky mei mei in two days time, after consulting with GTV’s director, Randy Vu first.” Andy Ge interrupted over the microphone, gathering everyone’s attention again.

“Wang Zi!” Xiao Xun smiled big and made her way towards them. “Oh..hi Gui Gui.”

“Hi Xiao Xun.” Gui Gui smiled at her.

She didn’t return the smile but instead looked at Wang Zi.

“Do you want to go dance with me?” She asked him, smiling.

Gui Gui stared at her in astonishment. With…Wang Zi? Xiao Xun? With Wang Zi? What is going on??

“Erm…I’m not much of a dancer.” Wang Zi replied.

“Wang Zi.” Gui Gui blurted out suddenly. “Will you come out with me? I want to tell you something.”

“Uh..sure Gui, let’s go.” Wang Zi replied. “Maybe later Xiao Xun, kay?”

She merely nodded and stared at Gui Gui with contempt. If looks could kill….

Oh jesus, what am I thinking? Gui Gui’s heart beat faster with each step. I just couldn’t stand there and watch Wang Zi go with her! Ya Tou was right, there’s something up with Xiao Xun. I have to tell him how I feel before it’s too late.

Wang Zi opened the door for Gui Gui and she almost tripped over her own feet stepping outside.

“You ok?” Wang Zi asked with an easy smile. “Too much juice, huh?"

Gui Gui raised an eyebrow.

"You can't get drunk off juice, stupid."

He thought for a moment.

“But if anyone could, it’d be you.”

Gui Gui rolled her eyes at him and they stepped out into the night.

------------------------------------------------------------
That was a pretty long update if I do say so myself Smile I'll be busy with school this week so I probably won't be updating for a little bit so this is to make up for it Smile

Hmm all these questions about pairing! Um...well I'm still thinking about it and as I said, I am totally in love with both haha so I'll try to have cute scenes with both pairs but one thing for sure, I hate Xiao Xun lol and I've never liked her so I'm sorry if you're offeneded by how mean she is haha Very Happy

♥Sweeter ♥Than ♥Chocolate♥ Empty Chapter 3

Post by xxrachi_babexx 9/6/2009, 7:46 pm

We strolled along the green garden pathway, on either side of us flowers and grass. It really was a beautiful night, you could see the stars, they were shining so brightly.
It felt like the further we walked, the more the clouds parted away, to reveal a dark blue sky that I wanted to gaze at, staring with wonder at its seemingly endless blue.

My heartbeat fast, I don’t know how I was even able to walk. Wang Zi strolled along easily beside me and there was silence. It was a nice silence though, a silence we were used to. We had known each other long enough and the silence didn’t feel like emptiness at all.

“You see that star right there?” Wang Zi asked, pointing to the one shining the brightest, right in the middle of the sky.

“Mhm. It’s glowing brighter than all the others.” I replied.

“It reminds me of us.”

What?! Us? As in Wang Zi and Gui Gui? Gui Gui and Wang Zi? I thought I was going to explode!

“What?”

“It reminds me of how we’re just a little part of a bigger world, a bigger picture.” He said and smiled at me.

Oh. Darn that smile, it was already making me melt and I hadn’t even said anything yet!

I suddenly stopped walking and Wang Zi turned around.

“What’s up?” he asked, examining my face.

“Um…Wang Zi…” I started carefully…I really don’t know how to say this!

“Yeah?”

“Uh…Ooh look it’s a shooting star!” I quickly buffed and pointed behind him.

He turned around to look and I spazzed for a few seconds. I can’t do this! It’s been so many years and, and, and, now…AHHH I can’t do this!!

Confused, Wang Zi turned back around to face me.
“I don’t see a shooting star.” He raised an eyebrow. “I think you need glasses.”

“Hey, shut up I already have glasses!” I replied and calmed myself down.

“Now what was it you wanted to tell me?” he asked, turning to face me completely.

“Wang Zi, I-I-“ I stuttered.

“You…”

“IreallylikeyoulikereallyreallyreallyreallylikeyouandIjustwantedtotellyou!” I blurted out incoherently.

“Ok say that again s-l-o-w-l-y.” He laughed, obviously not having understood anything I’d just said.

“I really like you.” I finally managed in a small voice.

“I like you too.” He replied. “So what did you want to tell me?”

“No, Wang Zi, I LIKE you.” I stumbled over my words, trying to make him understand. “I’ve liked you ever since we became friends and after filming and all of that, I’ve decided that I really, really like you and I just have to tell you.”

He stared at me for a few moments.

“You…like me?” He asked with an unfathomable expression on his face.

He leaned towards me.

I nodded and smiled at him. He was going to kiss me! He likes me! This is going to be the perfect fairy tale ending for me, Gui Gui!

I was closing my eyes when he put his hands gently on my shoulders.

Wait, what? That’s not supposed to happen.

“Gui Gui, I’ve always seen you as a little sister to me…I-“ He looked me in the eyes. “I don’t think we can go beyond our friendship, I just don’t see you like that.”

I just stared at him, speechless for a few seconds that seemed to last forever.

“Oh.”

He smiled at me, seeming to think I understood when in reality, I didn’t get anything he was saying. His words weren’t right, this wasn’t what he was supposed to say!

Tears formed in my eyes. How could he just say it like that? How could he just act as if it was…so casual! Like it didn’t even matter….

“Let’s go inside, the others are probably looking for us.” He took my hand and led me in.

============================================================
Waaah that was such a depressing chapter >_>

♥Sweeter ♥Than ♥Chocolate♥ Empty Chapter 4

Post by xxrachi_babexx 9/6/2009, 7:47 pm

My body felt numb as we got closer to the penthouse. I could hear the people laughing the dancing, their shapes mingling together into one. I felt removed from it all.
Wang Zi was still walking…just walking like normal. Like nothing had happened at all.

But he was my friend! I thought he was my best friend….but he didn’t even seem to care. I couldn’t think about it anymore. The tears were spilling out of my eyes and I kept turning my head so he wouldn’t see them and I could secretly wipe them away.

If it mattered nothing to him, I wouldn’t let him see how much it had affected me.

“More sushi?” He asked as we entered the party again, grinning and pointing to the table where we had fought over it so playfully just a few minutes ago.

“Um, no thanks.” I managed to answer in a husky voice and quickly got out of his sight.

I ran up to the second floor as quick as possible, pushing past everyone in my way, no time to excuse myself. I knew that very soon, I would start bawling and I couldn’t let anyone see that. I might have seen a few blurred faces look at me with concern as I ran past but I didn’t stop.

Once on the second floor, I ran past the rooms on either side of me in the hallway until I got to the very last room…my room. Fumbling with the key, I opened the door and slammed it shut. Nearly tripping over all the clothes spread across the floor, I collapsed onto the bed.

There, I cried and cried. I lost track of time as tears spilt down my cheeks onto my bear pillow. I didn’t bother to wipe them, I knew there would be more coming. Soon, I heard a loud knock on the door.

“Gui Gui!” A voice called outside.

I thought it was Wang Zi for a few seconds and my heart beat hard.

“Gui!! Open the door.” Ya Tou’s childish voice called from the outside. “Hurry up ah!”

Oh. It was Ya Tou.

I debated answering the door for a few seconds but knew that Ya Tou wouldn’t be denied.

Sighing, I slowly got up from my bed and felt my way to the door blindly; I had forgotten to turn on the lights.

“Gui Gui!” Ya Tou called threateningly. “I will break this door if you don’t open this!”

“You could not.” I grumbled to myself, then out loud, “I’m coming!”

I hastily wiped a few tears off my face but I could tell they were puffy and red. Ah well, I tried.

As soon as I opened the door,

“Gui!” Ya Tou whined and gave me a big hug. “Waaah what happened to you? Everyone was so worried but I told them not to come up because you just wanted to see me.”

She gave me a big grin.

Seeing my best friend was just the trigger that got my tears pouring again.

“Y-Ya touuuu!” I cried, as she hugged me. “H-he said n-no!”

“Wang Zi?!” She shouted in disbelief.

She straightened me and gave me a good look up and down.

“You’re not serious?!” She just stared at me.

I nodded and hiccupped as the tears kept pouring.

“He said w-we could just be f-friends.” I managed to stop crying long enough. “I was being really serious, Ya Tou, I really was! But he took it as….as some kind of…j-joke!”

She gave me another hug but was at a loss of words to say.

“I really thought he would say yes.” I said in a small voice.

“Wang Zi is such a-“ Ya Tou began then stopped. “Why, I’ll show him.”

She quickly got up and determinedly stomped to the door before I stopped her.

“No, Ya Tou!” I held her back quickly. “He’ll think I’m retarded, don’t!”

She stopped with a sigh.

“What a jerk. And I thought he was a good person. He was always such a good friend to you, to all of us! Ugh, I hate him. Jerk, jerk, jerk!“

I didn’t answer.

“It’ll be ok, Gui.” Ya Tou comforted, after finishing her rant on Wang Zi. “He doesn’t deserve you anyways…you’ll get over it, don’t worry.”

I could only nod because I wasn’t sure I ever would. Ya Tou understood me the most in Hey Girl but she still didn’t get that this rejection didn’t just break my heart, it shattered it into a million pieces.

We had been such close friends, him and I. I’d always felt that the feelings between us hadn’t been just of friendship. He’d always been flirty with me and we’d always been close, physically as well.

This sucks.

A while later, Ya Tou left me to assure the others I was ok. I couldn’t go down there, I refused. I’m glad she left me for a bit to myself. I needed some time just to sit there, numb and silent. After I don’t know how long, I heard the crowd of voices move to right below the second floor. I guess they were leaving.

Despite myself, I opened my door and silently crept to the other end of the hallway and peeked from the staircase.

I saw Mei Mei and Da Ya talking to Ao Quan in hushed voices. Probably about me. Then there was Apple and Xiao Jie smiling and waving at A Wei and Xiao Yu. Finally I saw him…with Xiao Xun. She clung onto him like…like a leech, I thought bitterly to myself. Just like a leech.

Their conversation drifted up to me.

“That was so fun, Waaang Zi.” Xiao Xun said in a whiny voice and giggled. “You should come over tomorrow.”

“Mmh tomorrow is our autograph event.” Wang Zi replied and looked around. “Hey, where did that Gui Gui go? I haven’t seen her since we came in.”

“Where did you guys go?” Xiao Xun asked with an unnatural curiosity.

“For a walk.” Wang Zi replied “It’s really nice outside tonight.”

“Yo, Prince!” Ao Quan yelled from the doorway. “C’mon we’re leaving!”

“Oh!” Wang Zi smiled at Xiao Xun. “Well, I’ll see you.”

“Oh yeah, def-“ She began but just then Ya Tou pushed past Wang Zi roughly.

“I hope you’re happy.” She gave him her fiercest glare and stepped on his foot.

“Ow! What?” Wang Zi stared after her in shock.

Just then, his eyes traveled in my direction, up the stairs. Startled, I quickly hid, back to the wall and hoped he didn’t see anything.

♥Sweeter ♥Than ♥Chocolate♥ Empty Chapter 5

Post by xxrachi_babexx 9/6/2009, 7:48 pm

My alarm clock rang loudly as I smacked it and mumbled something about mornings.
CLUNK. It fell on the floor.

Ugh.

I hate mornings, hate them, hate them, hate them.

And all of a sudden,

“Gui Gui!” Da Ya yelled and jumped onto my bed.

“How’d you get in here?” I mumbled, squinting at her in the sunlight pouring in from the windows.

“Door?” She rolled her eyes and lay down beside me. “So.”

“So what?” I rolled over and tried to sleep again.

“Hey! I don’t appreciate being ignored!” Da Ya pouted and rolled me back over. “Tell me.”

“Da Ya!” I grumbled, trying to turn away again without success. “Tell you what?”

“Oh, you know what!” She narrowed her eyes at me. “Don’t make me say it.”

“What?” I was getting annoyed now. “I don’t know what you’re talking about!”

“What happened with…you know…” She clearly didn’t want to finish.

“Wha-“ I began.

Oh. That. Ugh.

“Nothing happened.” I replied softly, trying to avoid further interrogations.

“Uh-huh.” She stared at me knowingly. “You know, he asked about you last night.”

“So?” I grunted. “I don’t care.”

“You really don’t want to know?”

“No.” I replied stubbornly.

“Fine.” She got up. “I’m not letting this go. We’ll talk about it after breakfast. Oh, and Mei Mei told me to yell at you to WAKE UP BEFORE THE EGGS GET COLD!!”

With that, she left.

I rolled over and fell asleep again. What a sucky morning.

Ugh, stupid Da Ya. She made me think about…what happened again and I couldn’t sleep any longer. Groaning, I kicked the covers completely off the bed and groggily sat up. I saw myself in the mirror and although the puffy eyes had faded a little, they were still totally red, a reminder of my “rejection”.

“You can’t even call it a rejection.” I mumbled out loud to myself. “He didn’t even bother to take me seriously.”

Walking to the closet, I kicked my bunny slippers out of my way, annoyed.

“Gui Gui!” I moaned and kicked the dresser too. “Ow! Why did you do this to yourself? Jesus, you were never supposed to tell him! You were supposed to keep it in your stupid little head up in the clouds and…maybe we would still be friends..”

In truth, I knew that Wang Zi was still willing to be friends. Heck, he hadn’t even taken me seriously about my confession of my love for him, of course he would think everything was still normal but…I didn’t. I would never be able to face him again, to face those deep eyes and that easy smile.

“Stop thinking about it!” I scolded myself and without brushing my hair and still in my PJ’s walked downstairs.

It seemed like the whole table hushed as soon as I got there. Xiao Jie, Xiao Man, Mei Mei, Da Ya, and Ya Tou all stared as I took a seat and helped myself to some eggs.

“Uh, Gui Gui.” Ya Tou ventured cautiously. “Do you want some orange juice?”

“No.” I replied curtly. “What are you all staring at? If you have something to say, say it!”

I looked around, daring anyone to say anything.

“What happened? Tell us what happened?! Did he say no directly? OMG are you sure you heard right?! So then what? What now?”

All these questions poured in at me from different directions.

“Ugh, guys, this was where you were supposed to be passionate about my feelings and not ask me anything!” I grumbled.

“So how are you feeling, Gui?” Da Ya finally said in the midst of all the questions.

“I feel like a spirit.” I muttered. “You know how they say a ghost never quite belongs completely in a mortal world? Well that’s how I feel.”

“Gui Gui, we’re serious here!” Mei Mei whined. “We want to know how bad your heartbreak was!”

“Was?!” I glared at her. “You mean IS?!”

“We’re sorry, Gui.” Ya Tou comforted.

“Where’s Xiao Xun?” I asked, looking around.

“I think she said she was going on a walk.” Xiao Jie replied. “She should be back by now though.”

Right as she said that, I heard the doorknob turn and everyone looked to hear voices in the hallways…the voice of Xiao Xun and…undoubtedly, Wang Zi.

“You were right.” I groaned and looked at Ya Tou.

“How about tomorrow?” Xiao Xun asked pleadingly as she and Wang Zi made their way in, both in exercise outfits.

“I’m too busy.” He replied, looking at his watch. “How about next weekend?”

“But I need to go shopping soon!” She smiled at him. “I bet whatever you’re doing can wait.”

“Well…”

Then they both stopped when they saw the rest of us at the table.

“Hey, everyone.” Wang Zi waved and came over.

No, no, no, don’t get any closer! I shut my eyes and pinched Ya Tou.

Help me! I mouthed.

There was undoubtedly an awkward feeling. All the mei mei’s looked to Wang Zi and smiled, trying not to look back at me.

“Hi Wang Zi.” Da Ya quickly said, giving all of us a look. “What brings you here so early?”

“Oh, Xiao Xun wanted me to go jogging with her.” He replied, smiling. “Wow, you guys already got this place cleaned up from last night? Impressive. Ao Quan was talking about a party at our place next weekend but I’m not sure we’ll be able to handle it.”

“Want some toast?” Xiao Xun took a seat next to Wang Zi, interrupting their conversation.

When I say seat, I mean on his lap.

“Erm, not right now.” He replied, clearly slightly uncomfortable with the closeness.

Ew, ew, ew! I couldn’t watch them anymore.

“Hey, uh, Gui,” Ya Tou suddenly said, seeing me look like I was going to be sick. “Um, I have to show you my, uh, picture of my puppy upstairs!”

She quickly made up the lie and motioned for me to follow her.

I agreed with relief and quickly got out of my chair, hoping to make it out before,

“Gui!” Wang Zi said and quickly grabbed my hand as I was passing him.

Squirming, I turned around.

“Yeah?” My voice was so dry I didn’t know how I could’ve talked.

“Are you still going to game with us tomorrow after recording?” He smiled. “I’m still betting on the Lakers, they’re going to beast Bridgeport and you know it.”

Oh yeah, the baseball game we were going to go to with Ao Quan and A Wei….the outing where Gui Gui and Wang Zi were going to spend the whole day together…

I quickly shook my head. “I’m busy.”

“Oh-“

Without waiting for him to finish, I climbed up the stairs two at a time, with Ya Tou behind me.

A few hours later, the whole crew drove downtown for an autograph signing. I plugged my earphones in and the music drowned everyone out.

As we got to the department store where it was held, I saw Xiao Xun talking in low tones to Xiao Jie, the whole time looking up at me. Making up my mind, I made my way over to them.

“Xiao Xun, can I talk to you for a minute, in private?”

She merely looked at me for a few seconds.

“The event is about to start, Gui Gui.” She threw a look at Xiao Jie, who didn’t say anything.

“It’ll just take a few seconds.” I pushed.

She sighed and followed me over by the parking lot.

“What do you want to talk to me about?” She asked, clearly counting the minutes.

“About you and…Wang Zi.” I said, staring at her.

“What about us?” She asked defensively.

“Xiao Xun what’s going on between you two?” I asked finally. “Why are you so close to him when-“

“When I know you like him?” She cut in, looking at me with bitterness in her eyes.

I nodded slowly, trying to figure out what she meant.

“Because I like him too, Gui Gui. Is that wrong? Can I not like someone just because you like him?”

“That’s not wrong, I just-“

“Then what’s the problem?” She asked harshly. “Wang Zi likes me more than you. I’m more his type anyways. Why don’t you just forget your fantasies about being with him? He’s already rejected you.”

“How did you-“ I was stunned, Wang Zi couldn’t have told her…could he?

“I guessed.” Xiao Xun replied. “You don’t think your running up the stairs last night went unnoticed, did you?”

“I…thought we were friends.” I said quietly. “Why are you making this so obvious when you know it hurts?”

“I’m sorry Gui Gui.” Xiao Xun finally said, her tone much softer. “It’s just that everyone has supported your crush on Wang Zi but I’ve liked him too. I always have even though none of you noticed. And now that he finally likes me, I’m not going to ignore him. Do you understand that Gui?”

I nodded. “Yeah. I get it. I’m glad that he’s happy. Thank you, Xiao Xun.”

She nodded and walked away. I stood there, knowing that every single thing she said had been true. She is Wang Zi’s type, the smart girl, the reasonable girl, the pretty girl….everything that I’m obviously not. Well I’m glad he’d be happy with her. I had liked him enough to want that for him, right?

A few yards away from Gui Gui….

Andy Ge had seen that whole episode unfold.

“Poor Gui Gui.” He muttered to himself. “Cat fights, they never end do they? First it was Tong Tong and Da Ya and now them.”

He turned to his assistant.

“What do I do about this, Alison? I can’t let the whole group fall apart again and I foresee that coming as a result of this.”

“I think Gui Gui needs a little time away from all of this.” Alison said thoughtfully. “Maybe moving her somewhere else for away time could solve it.”

“True…” He thought for a moment. “The casting for Tian Mo Xing…it’s still open…and Gui Gui…she would be perfect for it.”

♥Sweeter ♥Than ♥Chocolate♥ Empty Chapter 6

Post by xxrachi_babexx 9/6/2009, 7:48 pm

“Now don’t move Ms. Gui Gui.” My makeup artist said and made me stay still.
But I REALLY had to go to the bathroom!

Just then the door opened and Andy Ge came in, closing the door behind him.

“Hello, Gui!” He greeted me with an unusual cheerfulness.

“Hi, Andy Ge.” I replied, squinting into the mirror and trying to wash off the layer after layer of mascara. “What’s up?”

“Eh,” He quickly glanced at the lady doing my makeup. “Could you leave us alone for a few minutes, miss?”

“But half her face is still loaded with makeup!” She replied, annoyed. “Couldn’t you wait a minute?”

“Now, please?”

“Fine.” She then gathered her things, muttering something about impatient people these days.

“What’s wrong?” I asked Andy and tried wiping off some blush on my own…didn’t go too well.

“Oh nothing.” He replied and took a seat beside me. “I was just checking in to see how you’re doing and all…”

“Oh…um…fine?” I said it as more of a question than a statement.

Well I didn’t want to lie.

“Ok, good, good.” Andy Ge said absentmindedly.

He seemed to be talking to himself more than to me, as if he was deeply thinking about something.

“How are things with, you know, your fellow band mates and stuff?” He tried to ask this in an inconspicuous way.

Ah well, at least he tried.

“You mean with Wang Zi and Xiao Xun?” I asked dully.

“Oh, uh, well if you want to put it that way…” He said, clearly uncomfortable at how direct I was being.

“They’re just great.” I said, not revealing anything else.

“Okay. Good, good.” Andy sighed. “So Gui Gui. Alison and I have been thinking about this for awhile and we’ve decided to further your career just a little bit.”

“Really?” I asked, slightly interested. “What do you mean?”

“Well, you know that new collaborating show we’re doing with GTV?” Andy asked, his voice suddenly turning more business like. “Pi Li MIT/Clue Collector?”

It took me a few moments to remember and then,

“Oh, yeah the one that had um…”

Damn, what’s his name?

“Uh, that one guy in?” I tried to act like I knew who I was talking about.

“Uh-huh.” Andy Ge wasn’t fooled. “That one guy…named Aaron Yan.”

“Yeah!” I nodded quickly. “Him.”

He obviously wanted to roll his eyes at me but that would have looked extremely unprofessional.

“Well, I was thinking maybe you could audition for the part of Tian Mo Xing.”

“Me??” I stared at him weird. “Why me?”

“You don’t want it?” He asked, confused.

“No, it’s not that I don’t want it it’s just…” I thought for a second. “Why would you ask me? Da Ya and Mei Mei and them all are much better actresses than I’ll ever be, why would you pick me?”

“Well…”

I could tell he was trying to think up a good reason. I am so good at reading people!

“Maybe the role is just right for you.” Andy finally said.

“Yeah right.” I wasn’t fooled. “This is because of something else, isn’t it?”

I thought for a minute as Andy fidgeted uncomfortably.

“Oh.” I raised an eyebrow at him. “You pity me. That’s why you’re giving me the role.”

“Hey!” Andy said indignantly. “I do not pity you! Just because I’m asking you to try out doesn’t mean that you’ll land the role, that decision isn’t mine to make. I’m merely suggesting that you try it because…well it fits your character well, I think.”

“Whatever you say.” I said in a stubborn voice.

“Well do you want it or not?” He asked, getting annoyed. “I could always give it to someone else who would jump at the opportunity. Besides, I think you deserve a break from everyone else, this will provide you with a new learning environment and a different group of friends! Provided you land it of course.”

Hmmm….I guess he was right…it’s not like I really wanted to stay behind and watch Wang Zi and Xiao Xun be all lovey-dovey icky-mushy. I shuddered.

“Ok fine, I’ll try out.” I finally said. “It sounds like fun…wait what is it called again?”

This time Andy Ge audibly sighed and rolled his eyes at me. I laughed.

“Pi Li M-I-T.” He said slowly. “Opposite Aaron Yan. Of Fahrenheit.”

“Oh..ok.” I said and I guess I sounded a little like I couldn’t care less.

“Gui Gui, I want you to do some research before the audition.” He said, looking at me exasperatedly.

“For what?” I asked, incredulous.

“Your might be future cast mates.” He replied. “I don’t want you walking into the audition to do a part with them and have no idea who they are.”

“Isn’t that the point?” I asked. “You’re not supposed to know them you’re just supposed to act out a certain scene so the producers can judge your acting skills.”

“Yes, but Fahrenheit and Aaron Yan are huge!” Andy said impatiently. “You have to at least know who he is.”

“Ok, ok fine I’ll look him up on Google.” I grumbled.

“Good.” Andy smiled at me, satisfied. “Well I expect you ready by Wednesday morning.”

“That soon?” I asked, surprised.

Today was already Monday.

A few hours later, we were back at home for lunch….wow that’s a first.

Mei Mei, Da Ya and Ya Tou were on the couch watching TV and the others were all the living room as well. I was chomping down on some chocolate I found in the kitchen.

Yum, yum.

“OH MY GOD!!!!” Mei Mei suddenly shrieked.

I nearly dropped my chocolate bar and choked on it.

“What, where?” I rushed over. “Who died?!”

“GUI GUI!” Da Ya yelled and pulled me onto the couch.

She turned my head to the TV screen and I saw Andy Ge speaking with some GTV news reporter.

“GTV: Wow that’s exciting!
Andy Ge: Yes, very. We are all looking forward to collaborating with GTV on this show and are very happy and announce one of our own to be starring with Yan Ya Lun.”

At this, the camera turned to another figure, standing beside Andy Ge. He had dark eyes and tosseled hair. He had a sharp chin and a pale complexion. His lips were curved into a small smile, which he directed at the camera.

“Aaron Yan: Yeah, I’m pretty excited for the audition, I can’t wait.
GTV: Auditions will be held on Wednesday and Channel V’s Wu Ying Jie, or affectionately know by her fans as Gui Gui, will be expected to land the roll.”

Mei Mei shook me, a look of ecstasy on her face.

“Wu Ying Jie, why didn’t you tell us?!”

“Uh…heh,” I grinned apologetically, “I..kinda forgot…”

“You don’t forget something like that!” Xiao Jie said as everyone nodded in agreement.

“You, Gui Gui, You are going to be starring in your first TV show without us….ever!” Da Ya screeched and jumped up and down with me, laughing. “You’re growing up Gui Gui!”

“Aiyo,” I rolled my eyes at everyone. “It’s not that big of a deal. Just another show…”

“Ugh.” Mei Mei pouted. “She’s landed the part and she STILL isn’t excited for it. She really is a Gui Gui.”

“I haven’t landed the part yet!” I argued. “And yes, I am and proud.”

That night, everyone threw this huge celebration party on my behalf even though I kept telling them it wasn’t a for sure thing yet. Eh, nobody believed me. Heck, even Xiao Xun came over and congratulated me. Awkward.

But I was totally nice about it…I mean, I think I’m pretty much over Wang Zi. I really am!

“Oh my god, Wang Zi and Xiao Xun were so cute today!” Xiao Jie and Xiao Man were saying in a corner. “They are such a cute couple!”

Ouch. Or not.

I could only hope for Wednesday to come sooner…

♥Sweeter ♥Than ♥Chocolate♥ Empty Chapter 7

Post by xxrachi_babexx 9/6/2009, 7:51 pm

Wednesday, January 5th
8:13 PM
Dear diary,

This is Gui Gui! Ok, I know I don’t write in you much but Ya Tou made me record this “extremely important event” for future reference in here so I guess I’m writing in you, now in my room.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Ya Tou: You’re not supposed to say that!
-Gui Gui: Why not? I wouldn’t be writing in this stupid thing anyways, if it wasn’t for you. I hate diaries.
-Ya Tou: Gui Gui!
-Gui Gui: Ok, ok fine!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Anyways, today was the audition for Pi Li MIT. Can you believe it? I was actually pretty nervous/excited for this thing. You know how Andy Ge was all like, “You have to do some research on this thing before you go in and act retarded?”

Well I totally listened to him and that very night, I went on my laptop and Googled Pi Li MIT and Aaron Fan. I mean Yan.

So I Googled him and at first, a bunch of fansites came up and stuff about this band that he’s in, Fahrenheit. Mei Mei and Da Ya both started to swoon over him when the picture of them came up but personally, I think the guy named Wu Chun is cooler looking.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Ya Tou: You only like him because it said his favorite hobby was to eat.
-Gui Gui: And he has really cool hair.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

SO ANYWAYS! He’s the youngest member of the band and is just a few years older than me…like, 3 I think.

I think I was pretty informed about him now and went on to Google Pi Li MIT. Andy Ge was being mean and didn’t bother to give me the inside info on the show because he thought it would be better if I saw it from “the media’s point of view” for my audition.

Whatever that means.

“The legend of a team called MIT secretly protecting Sheng Ying School was never public acknowledged but nonetheless spread wildly among the student body. For some reason, the team had disappeared and evil began to rack havoc in the school. The last remaining member of MIT, Teacher Cherry, decided to recruit the badest of all bad students, 007, 187, 747 and Tian Mo Xing, to form a new generation of MIT who would solve the crimes and restore the school back to its former glory.”

I copied that from Wikipedia Very Happy but I guess that’s what the show is more or less about: Mystery and Suspense.

Now for the actual audition itself,

I woke up at 6:00 this morning and put on some makeup, trying to show my best light. I got mascara all over and Xiao Jie had to come and do it for me. To my surprise, everyone was up already and waiting for me. They were all excited and stuff…I think they were more excited than I was!

But their excitement was contagious I guess and before I knew it, I found myself wondering what this Aaron Yan and the audition would actually be like.

“Gui Gui,” Da Ya took me aside. “Promise me you’ll really try to get this part.”

“Why?” I asked, confused.

“Because it’s important.” She tried to explain to me. “We all want you to do well and become more than just the little mei mei from Hey! Girl. You have real talent in acting Gui Gui, it wasn’t just a coincidence that Andy Ge chose you, you know.”

“Oh…” I said and smiled at her. “Don’t worry Da Ya, I won’t let you guys down!”

“Good.” She gave me a hug and we made our way back to the group.

“Gui Gui!” Ya Tou ran over as I was getting into the car to go to the audition.

She dug something small out of her pocket. It was a slim silver necklace with a pink bear charm.

“This is my lucky charm!” She said and handed it to me. “My sister gave it to me and it really is lucky! You have to promise me you’ll wear it always!”

“Aww.” I grinned at her and put the charm on quickly. “I love it, Ya Tou! Thanks, I promise I will!”

Then I got into the car and was off. The audition was held at the amphitheater in downtown Taipei. As I stared up at it in wonder, I realized that it was my first real audition without my sisters. No pressure.

The driver and a bodyguard got out of the car with me and shielded me from the enormous crowd of paparazzi waiting. Millions of flashes went off as I got out and I gave them a big smile and tried not to be blinded.

“Gui Gui!” They shouted. “Tell us about this audition!”

“Are you excited?”

“What do you have to say about your costars?”

“Are you going to land the part?”

“Does this mean you’re quitting Hei Se Hui Mei Mei?”

“Talk to us, Gui Gui!”

I was relieved when we finally made it up the steps to the front entrance. It was abnormally quiet in the lobby and then,

“Gui Gui!” A woman came out of nowhere and shook my hand. “Hi, I’m Gabby from GTV and I want to welcome you to the Pi Li MIT audition!”

“Thanks.” I smiled and shook her hand. “Is it starting yet?”

“Oh, no first you’ll be meeting with your costars and then perhaps some lunch?” She grinned and led me down the hallways.

“When are the auditions then?” I asked, confused.

“Well actually, most of the prospects have already auditioned both yesterday evening and this morning.”

“What?” I asked, panicking. “So I missed it?”

“Oh, no of course not Gui Gui!” She smiled at me. “We actually saved your audition for the very last so you’ll have to do extra good to impress the producers ok?”

“Oh.” I said weakly.

No pressure.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ya Tou: You must have been so nervous!
Gui Gui: Of course! But I kept my cool, hahaha.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First, we went to the makeup room to touch up my makeup a little more and make it look fresh. Then she led the way to the conference room, where the cast was held…well all the cast except for Tian Mo Xing of course.

Gulp.

“-be sure to make a good impression!” Gabby was telling me. “The producer and screenwriter and stuff will be in the room too so you’ll have to be extra good!”

“Great.” I muttered.

“You’ll do fine!” She assured me.

We then arrived at a door behind the stage, the very last in the hallway.

Gabby opened the door without knocking and pushed me in.

Being as clumsy as I was, I almost tripped over the door crack but managed to steady myself just in time.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Ya Tou: Hahahahahaha!
-Gui Gui: Shut up! It was so scary and embarrassing!
-Ya Tou: Well no one noticed so it’s okay!
-Gui Gui: Hopefully.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I looked up, expecting to find the usual setup for a conference room; you know the huge table stretching across with the stiff chairs and the huge projector up front. Well I was very much surprised to find little round tables spread all over with chairs here and there, messily spread out. There was a lot of talking going on but as soon as I stepped into the room, it all quieted. Some people were seated at the tables, others leaning against the walls, and still other just standing there.

“You must be Wu Ying Jie!” A man in a suit said, standing up and coming over. “Welcome! I’m Lin Qing Zhen, the producer and director.”

“Oh!” I was taken aback. “Nice to meet you!”

He laughed.

“We were just having lunch here, glad you could join us.”

There were quite a few people in here, I’m guessing all the actors and the directors and stuff. There was an easy feel in the atmosphere however and I was relieved.
“Let me introduce you to the-“ He paused and looked around. “Actually, why don’t they introduce themselves to you instead? I’m going to get me some more of those sandwiches, yum…”

He wondered off.

I stared after him in surprise. Um…

Then all of a sudden a guy approached me. He was grinning and seemed very friendly.

“Hey, I’m Huang Hong Sheng but everyone knows me as Xiao Gui.” He grinned at me.

I smiled, relived to talk to someone. “I’m Wu Ying Jie but everyone calls me Gui Gui.”

“Hey we have the same nicknames…almost.” He laughed and everything about him lit up.

Then, another guy approached. He was more cool looking and looked me up and down, nodding.

“Don’t scare her off, Xiao Gui.” He scolded Huang Hong Sheng and then turned to me. “I’m Lu Ting Wei, nice to meet you.”

“I’m Gui Gui.” I said and smiled.

“Hei Se Hui Mei Mei, huh?” He asked. “I think you must be the cute one.”

I blushed profusely. “Uh, thanks.”

He smirked.

“Oh, don’t mind him, Gui Gui.” A woman approached us, looking to be in her early twenties. “I’m Christina by the way, I’m playing Teacher Cherry.”

She gave us all a big grin.

“I’m glad there’s finally a girl here among all these pigs…oops I mean guys.”

“Hey!” Xiao Gui and Ting Wei protested.

“Xiao Gui might be a pig but I’m very hygienic, thank you very much.”

“I-“ Xiao Gui began to protest and then,

“You guys are extremely loud.” A voice said behind us and everyone moved so I could see.

IT WAS THE GUY FROM TV! I must say, he was better looking in person.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Ya Tou: Oh, Gui Gui!
-Gui Gui: What, it was true! He was much more…I don’t know, real.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

He was wearing a laid back tee shirt with jeans and a pendant around his neck. As he came closer, I noticed his eyes were extremely dark and deep. His eyebrows were focused and everything about him gave off the feeling of calm.

“Aaron Yan.” He said and I didn’t realize I was staring at him until I heard Christine giggle.

“Oh, uh I’m Gui Gui, I mean Wu Ying Jie.” I blurted out.

Not knowing what to do, I stuck out my hand.

He gave me a small smirk and I could see the playfulness in his eyes.

“Great, now everyone knows everyone!” Christine smiled and pulled me over to the food table.

Christine was really outgoing and friendly and it felt like we had known each other for much longer than just a few minutes.

“Oh my goodness, you have no idea how happy I am.” She almost bounced up and down as I helped myself to some food and we took a seat at a small table with the rest of the cast.

“I thought I would be the only girl here and then here you are! You know, this is pretty much the group they think will make the cut the most. So we’ll probably end up being cast mates after we make the audition and we’ll all be sharing the same dorm on set except for Tian Li and Zhang Shan Jie but they don’t share the same dorm as us.”

“Jeez that girl talks a mile a minute.” Ting Wei muttered and Christine threw him a dirty look.

“I’m trying to welcome her!” She said annoyed. “Well anyways we’ll have so much fun!”

“I haven’t even landed the part yet.” I protested meekly and grinned. “Don’t jinx it!”

“It’s pretty much assumed.” Xiao Gui replied assuring me. “I heard you’re a pretty good actress what with Brown Sugar Macchiato and all.”

“Oh that wasn’t a real acting project.” I laughed. “It was more just introducing Lollipop and us. We were supposed to act like ourselves.”

“Like I said,” Ting Wei cut in. “the cute one.”

I blushed again and Christine kicked him under the table.

“Gui Gui, listen to me.” She turned to me seriously. “Never get mixed in with that guy, kay? He’s the biggest playboy ever and is no good!”

“False!” He protested. “I’m just good with women, that’s all.”

“Now Aaron on the other hand,” Christine continued, ignoring him. “He’s the true ladies man, very worth it.”

Aaron rolled his eyes and shook his head at me. I laughed.

Just then the producer/director/Lin Qin Sheng got up again.

“Jeez, it’s been a long day.” He said aloud and then, “But cheer up because we have one final audition left!”

And pretty much everyone in the room cheered.

“Wu Ying Jie and Aaron Yan, you two will be the final pairing audition for today and you guys have exactly 10 minutes to practice the script in another room. After 10 minutes, I will call you back in for your audition.”

“Does he always have to be so technical?” Christine yawned. “Well good luck Gui Gui, I know you’ll do great.”

I smiled and thanked her. Following Aaron out of the room, I could feel stares behind us and it was kind of nerve-racking. He just looked like he’d seen more exciting things before.

He led me to the room next door. This room was a lot smaller, with just a few chairs and one window. It was very plain looking and cozy.

Once inside, he closed the door and handed me the script.

“This is what we’re rehearsing.” He told me and crossed over to the other end of the room.

“Oh.” I took the 2 pieces of paper stapled together.

Let’s see it was a regular love scene between a couple.

It was something like this:

Boy: Why are you doing this to me?
Girl: I just, I really don’t know about this.
Boy: The one thing I know is that I really really love you and-
-Sweeps girl off her feet~
Etc. etc. etc. etc.

Oh boy.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Ya Tou: How romantic!
-Gui Gui: More like awkward.
♥Sweeter ♥Than ♥Chocolate♥ Empty Chapter 7 [Cont.]
Post by xxrachi_babexx 9/6/2009, 7:51 pm
I was so busy staring at the script I was startled when I looked up and he was talking to me.
“Well?” He asked, looking at me from the other side of the room.
“Uh…do you want to start?” I asked unsure.
He stared at me for a few seconds and I felt like he was scrutinizing me carefully, peeling me apart layer by layer; maybe he was good at reading people too.
“Tell me more about yourself.” He said suddenly.
“What?” I was caught off guard. “Um…What do you want to know?”
“What you want me know.” He replied calmly.
“I-aren’t we supposed to be practicing the script?”
He chuckled.
“In order to truly perform your best at a pairings audition, you need to know your partner. The script has nothing to do with it as long as you know how the other performs.”
“Oh.”
It did make sense…well now I felt stupid. This was something completely new from the whole Brown Sugar Macchiato set. With that movie, we didn’t even have to audition we were all chosen before hand. I guess it was time for me to start with a blank slate again.
“Uh, can you go first?” I asked. “I don’t know where to start.”
“Tell me about…your friends.” He asked unrelentingly. “What are they like?”
“Well…I’ve know my band girls since, well a long, long time.” I gave up and started. “We’ve always been friends, even before the group came together. Let’s see, there’s Da Ya, Mei Mei, Ya Tou, Xiao Jie, Xiao Xun, and Xiao Man. There used to be Tong Tong but she left because her and Da Ya didn’t really get along towards the end. We’re all close but I think Ya Tou and I are the best friends. I think that she…..-“
I was surprised how good of a listener Aaron was as I just kept talking. I don’t know if it was acting or politeness actual interest. Either way, he was good at it and kept silent most of the time, staring at me with deep comprehending eyes, every now and then asking a question.
“There’s also the opposite group, Lollipop” I laughed. “They’re all such a goofy bunch. They’re all like big brothers to me although I’m pretty sure Da Ya and Ao Quan have a thing going on. It’s almost like a perfect match, everyone on both sides have a match…well except for me of course.”
I laughed again.
“I more or less fight with all of them and see them much more as friends than anything else. Like me and A Wei, we’re always arguing about baseball and such even though both he and I know the Lakers are so much better. Then there’s Xiao Yu who’s so annoying but we all love him anyways. But I fight over food with Wang Zi the most, we-“
I stopped abruptly and wondered why I had just blurted that out. I fell silent.
Aaron looked at me with a thoughtful look, as if he was seeing through me and then nodded, letting me stop.
“Well, now it’s your turn.” I finally said, filling in the silence. “What about your friends?”
He opened his mouth to say something but suddenly, there was a quick rap at the door and it opened.
“Alrighty you guys, it’s audition time!” Gabby said in her sing-song voice.
Aaron got up and I followed him out. We were brought to the main stage area and we walked out onto the stage. In front of us was the director and producer, Lin Qing Zhen and two others, the screenwriters.
Lin Qing Zhen gave us a big smile and signaled us to begin. I was so freaking nervous it was scary! And what made it worse was that Aaron Yan looked so comfortable! Like honestly, I don’t even think he was thinking about it at all! Me on the other hand, well I was freaking out.
He turned to face me and for a second, just stared at me. After I’d stared into his eyes for a little bit, confused, I realized he was calming me down. Jeez, this guy was good! I took a deep breath and thought about Wang Zi and Xiao Xun dressed in a pig outfit and felt a lot better.
As we started the script, I realized he was right. As long as you knew your partner, you didn’t really have to think much about the script, it came naturally. Even though he didn’t tell me much about himself, it was as if when I was talking, I had figured out a little about him. Yeah, I know me and my theatrics.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Ya Tou: How cute!!!
-Gui Gui: It wasn’t cute, Ya Tou! It was….professional. I had a good learning experience today *laughs.
-Ya Tou: Oh, whatever you say.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At the end, he swung me back like they did in ballroom dancing and it was flawless. I think he took dancing lessons >_>. I was…a little clumsy at that part BUT IT WAS OK because he made up for it 
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Gui Gui: Ya Tou I’m tired of writing, my hand has a cramp, can I stop now?
-Ya Tou: *sighs, ok but first you have to finish it and get to the most important part down! Hurry up.
-Gui Gui: Fine, fine.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We had long reached the end of the script and had just kept improvising. I didn’t even want to stop, it felt so natural! But that swing marked the end of our performance and the judges clapped and smiled.
“Bon, Bon! Tres bon!” One of the screenwriters applauded in French.
They then whispered amongst themselves for a little and then Lin Qing Zhen nodded at us to go. I was so relived to be done but I didn’t know if I’d gotten the part yet!
As soon as we got offstage, Gabby rushed to us.
“Gui Gui, Yan Ya Lun, you guys were great together! There’s a car waiting for you out front Gui.”
“Wait!” I looked back. “So did I get it or not?”
She laughed at me.
“They decided you’d gotten the part after the first couple of minutes in!”
“Oh.” I was too surprised to say anything. “Well why couldn’t they have said so? Jeez, they scared me for a few seconds there!”
“Congratulations.” He said and nodded at me.
And then he walked away. Romantic, huh?
~Love, Gui Gui :DD
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Gui Gui: Ok, I’m done!
-Ya Tou: It was romantic! He totally helped you! I bet it was much more romantic than you made it sound!
-Gui Gui: Goodness, why are you all acting like we’re together or something? I don’t even like him! And besides, I’ve only known him for a day too.
-Ya Tou: Just trying to help you get over Wang Zi, Gui.
-Gui Gui: Wang Zi? Who’s Wang Zi?
-Ya Tou: Oh Gui Gui. You’re such a dork.
-Gui Gui: Aiyo, you know I’m already over him! I barely even notice him anymore!
-Ya Tou: That’s my Gui Gui. Over time, it’ll be like nothing ever happened at all, right?
-Gui Gui:…Sure.

♥Sweeter ♥Than ♥Chocolate♥ Empty Chapter 8

Post by xxrachi_babexx 9/6/2009, 7:52 pm

“Mei Mei!” I yelled from the bathroom. “Where did you leave the hair straightener?! I’m leaving in like, 10 minutes for my first press conference and photoshoot for this movie and my hair looks like crap!”

“Oh don’t exaggerate!” Mei Mei grumbled and bustled into the bathroom, flipping through several drawers. “Your hair looks fine and one of these days, I will get you your own hair straightener so you can stop losing mine…maybe for your birthday.”

I rolled my eyes and continued to fumble with a bobby pin and looking at my outfit in the mirror.

“Ugh, I hate this shirt it’s so puffy!” I frowned at myself. “It looks like I’m pregnant.”

“It’s called losing weight, Gui.” Mei Mei said teasingly, emerging from the sink and holding up a high voltage pink hair straightener with her initials embedded on the handle.

“Mei Meiiii!” I groaned. “I’m not that fat, am I?”

“Nahh, you’re just our cute little porky mei mei.” She grinned at me and started straightening my hair. “You’d better remember to give Yan Ya Lun my number today. Oh my gosh you’re going to be spending a whole DAY with him!! Ugh some people have all the luck, I can barely believe it.”

“You know I’m just going to end up making a fool of myself.” I muttered. “I’m so…unprofessional around him but I guess I am sorta excited…”

“Sorta excited?” Mei Mei glared at me. “Gui Gui how could you only be-“

Just then the bathroom door swung open and a breathless Ya Tou ran in.

“Hey-Hey-“ She panted at the door for a few seconds. “Lollipop’s here. They want to “congratulate” you and send you off. You should come down.”

“Lollipop?” I asked incredulously. “All of them?”

“Yup.” Ya Tou straightened up. “Wang Zi and all.”

Oh jesus.

“Come on.” Mei Mei began to push me out the door. “You look great let’s go.”

“But-but-“ I protested but let myself be led out.

I was over him right? And besides this whole love rivalry thing was stupid! I didn’t want to be in a love triangle with Wang Zi and Xiao Xun, I would just leave them to be a…I don’t know love circle or something.

We walked down the stairs and everyone was just lounging in the dining room and living room.

“Yo, Gui Gui!” Ao Quan yelled. “There comes our new superstar.”

Everyone looked at me and I somehow managed to blush. That was weird, I never felt weird around these guys they were like my brothers. Huh, it must be the whole Wang Zi business. See? It was totally ruining everything.

“Shut up.” I muttered. “You know I’m not superstar material. I’m just Gui Gui.”

They all laughed. From there on, the mood became significantly lighter, happier. We joked around and I managed to relax a little.

It’s not like this press conference was anything big anyways, right? I would do just fine. Besides, I’d get to meet new costars and see Xiao Gui, Christina, Ting Wei, and Aaron again. I definitely could learn a thing or two from them.

“So tell me, is that Yan Ya Lun really all that he’s supposed to be?” Xiao Jie, Wei Lian and Xiao Yu all crowded around me.

“Like, I guess his film skills must be okay and all but how’s he as a person? Like does he get the girls just like that?” Ao Quan asked and snapped his fingers.

“Of course he’s great as a person!” Da Ya scoffed at them. “It’s Aaron Yan, he’s totally the hottest person alive and you’re asking whether he’s a good person and gets the girls??”

“Da Ya” I rolled my eyes at her. “Just because someone looks good doesn’t mean they’re a good person…but I guess, yes. He seems friendly enough and definitely really good at acting.”

“See I told you. He’s hot.” A dreamy look came over her face.

“So he’s nice to you, right?” A voice said beside me.

I turned around, a bit startled, to find Wang Zi suddenly sitting next to me.

“Uh…I guess.”I stuttered.

He nodded. “That’s good.”

Then he examined me closely.

“You look like you haven’t been getting enough sleep lately, Gui. Your eyes seem tired. You okay?”

Without realizing it, I backed away quickly from his scrutinizing gaze. It suddenly seemed hostile and awkward.

“Uh, fine, just fine.” I nodded quickly and he looked at me weird, suddenly noticing the uncomfortable distance I had just put between us.

“Wang Zi!” Apple scowled at him. “Don’t make her more nervous than she already is!”

“Sorry.” He muttered quietly, still looking at me.

I wished he would stop. I thought I was so over him! Anything I had previously felt for him was gone right? I wanted to let him be. Obviously he wasn’t trying to make this any easier on me.

And his eyes still had that certain depth to them, like he was seeing right through you. It made you not really want to look away…or maybe that was just me.

So why the hell couldn’t he see that this new distance between us was totally his fault?!

“Anyone want some of my Yum, Yum, Yummy cookies?” Ya Tou ventured, trying to break the awkward silence that had suddenly fallen.

“Ooh, Ya Tou, gimme some!” Everyone grabbed for them and the silence was broken.

“Ya Tou, did you put some of the sugar I got you into them?” Xiao Xun asked, coming out of the kitchen with Mei Mei.

She sat herself right across from Wang Zi and I looked away uncomfortably. Ya Tou caught my eye and she quickly patted the seat next to her, motioning for me to go over so I wouldn’t have to be caught in the middle of Wang Zi and Xiao Xun again.

I sighed, relieved, and was about to get up and go when Wang Zi caught my hand and turned me towards him.

“Hey, Gui.” He didn’t let go of my hand.

Oh, I’m sure Mr. Perfect didn’t think anything of the touch, just like I wouldn’t have when we were still friends but now was so different.

“Hm?” I managed to mutter.

I couldn’t quite look at him straight in the eyes so I stared at his lips instead. Wait no that was a sign of like, wanting to make out so I quickly diverted my gaze to his ear instead.

“What’ve you been up to these days, Gui?” He looked at me, as if hurt because he didn’t know. “I’ve barely seen you at all the last couple of days.”

“I’ve been…busy.” I replied slowly, not wanting to reveal anything else.

“With…the film and everything?”

“Well, yeah…” I answered.

It’s true, I had been pretty busy preparing and everything but I could tell the real work hadn’t even started yet; I would probably be a LOT busier in a few weeks.

“You haven’t been going with the rest of the band to the dinners and stuff lately…I kinda miss my little ghost friend.” He smiled mischievously and his eyes sparkled.

“Kind of?” I couldn’t help remarking and narrowing my eyes at him.

He laughed.

“Okay, fine a lot.” He managed to pull me closer without actually seeming like he was doing it on purpose. “But you’re the one who ditched on me with that soccer game.”

“I was busy.” I argued.

“Uh-huh.”

“No, I really was!” I growled. “And besides, even if I wasn’t, who says I have to do stuff with you?”

This guy was really great. He somehow manages to reject me, casually brush away my deep feelings for him, and then get me to talk to him again like nothing was wrong. What a player.

He chuckled and rolled his eyes at me.

“So when are we getting together Gui?”

“When I’m not busy.” I replied and stuck out my tongue at him.

He wants to act like nothing happened? Fine, two can play at that game.

“Gui Gui, shouldn’t you be leaving at about now?” Ya Tou cut in quickly, pointing worriedly at the clock.

“AH!” I jumped up, nearly knocking into her plate of cookies.

“Now look how late I am!” I glared at Wang Zi. “It’s all your fault.”

“Oh, but I haven’t even started.” He grinned at me and pushed me towards the door.

“Good luck Gui Gui!” Xiao Man called from the door.

“Yeah! Show that Aaron just how cute our little ghost is!” Mei Mei yelled.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” I heard Wang Zi ask her, annoyed.

“Gui Gui, do you have my good luck charm??” Ya Tou yelled, craning her neck to look.

“I got it right here, Ya Tou!” I grinned at her. “Bye!”

Everyone waved at me from the door.

I fingered the pink bear charm around my neck as the tinted windows rolled up and the car pulled away.

♥Sweeter ♥Than ♥Chocolate♥ Empty Chapter 9

Post by xxrachi_babexx 9/6/2009, 7:53 pm

Yay, new chapter! Finally, I know haha. I finally got over my lazy butt and wrote it. I think it's ok, I don't know if I've lost my touch or not, you tell me.
Thanks for all you guys' support I loveee you!! Also, suggestions and ideas are MOST welcome and will def. help keep this story going!

Oh and I know I don't have the right to say this because I'm usually a silent reader myself (again, too lazy to comment) but if there was ever a time I need comments/ideas to continue this story, this would be it. So please comment and tell me what you think, and what should happen next!

Enjoy!

=====================================================================================

I tapped my fingers against the cold glass table nervously. We'd just gotten to Silver Plaza, where the conference was going to be held and my heart was already thumping against my chest painfully.

Th-thump, th-thump, th-thump.

I hit my chest a couple of times, trying to make it calm down. That sounded kinda stupid so I stopped.

"Gui Gui, stop fidgiting!" Gabby scowled at me. "Barely anyone's arrived yet, no reason to be nervous."

"I know, I know!" I muttered. "It's still scary."

Gabby led me further down the hallway and we went down a couple of flights of stairs. We arrived at a parking lot-ish space where a huge stage was set smack-dab in the middle. There was a LOT of room and I could just imagine how many people, papparazzi and fans alike, would soon fill that space.

"Okay, so this is where you guys will be doing autographs, answering questions, and what not." Gabby filled me in. "We will be going backstage first to get you ready."

The backstage was seperated by a curtain and didn't seem that big at first but as soon as we went in, I saw that they had somehow managed to cram billions of makeup stations and closets into it.

"You!" Gabby bustled around and seated me at one of the stations, pointing to a girl nearby. "You, come do her makeup. Yes, you!"

The girl had looked at her with a disbelieveing look on her face.

I'm guessing she was new....hey, kinda like me, huh.

"Oh, uh, of course." She rushed over, fumbling with the foundation, which she began applying nervously.

"Um, I'm a huge fan of yours Gui Gui!" She whispered when Gabby wasn't looking.

I laughed. "Really? Thanks. What's your name?"

"Alyssa." She smiled shyly.

"Are you new here?"

"What me?" She nodded quickly. "Yeah, yeah I got hired last week. I didn't think that in a week I would be doing your makeup! I mean...you're...famous!"

I laughed self conciously.

"Don't say that. Did you know that 'famous' people are really just...normal? Like everyday people."

"Really?" She asked, staring at me with big wide eyes.

Yan Ya Lun suddenly popped into my head....he was definitely NOT your normal average everyday guy.

"Okay fine, at least I am."

We both laughed.

After makeup was over, barely anyone had arrived yet so I felt it was safe to take a small sneak peek at the stage. I opened the curtains a little bit and seeing as the space was still empty, cautiously made my way center stage.

Wow, I thought to myself, this is crazy! There was a HUGE blown up poster/ad of Pi Li MIT that we had shot just a few days ago...I still thought my face looked fat in it.

I saw a lonely microphone sitting at the edge of the stage and picked it up. It wasn't on and I held it to my mouth, pretending to be addressing all the papparazi and reporters.

"Ladies and gentlemen!" I cleared my throat loudly. "Welcome!...no that sounds too much like I'm introducing a play or something."

I tried again.

"Hey everyone, I'm Gui Gui! Please, please, hold the applause!"

I giggled to myself.

"I'm so very happy to be here today with all of you and all of my very wonderful costars!"

I swept my arm dramatically, welcoming them all.

“Wow this is kinda amazing…” I muttered, now talking more to myself than anything. “A week ago, I was slouching at home, fighting over Wang Zi with Xiao Xun, thinking I was in love and getting heartbroken…now I’m meeting new friends and just so excited for everything that’s going to happen, I know it’ll be awesome! It really is a great opportunity to actually act with people like Yan Ye Lun and Christina and-“

“It’s Yan Ya Lun.” A voice said behind me and I jumped, spinning around to find the real Aaron Yan standing behind me, a smirk playing on his face.

“But yes, I’m glad you think so.”

“Sorry….” I turned around and squeezed my eyes shut, pleading to the gods that the floor underneath me would open up and swallow me in…if there ever was a moment for that, this would be it.

“Wait, how much did you hear??”

He laughed.

“About this being a great opportunity and you feeling excited and blah, blah, blah…”

I sighed, relieved. “Thank God.”

“Oh, and you being heartbroken and fighting over someone named Wang Zi with someone named Xiao Xun.” He finished.

Grr…I stomped over to him, grabbing his perfectly smoothed collar and pulling him over menacingly.

It wasn’t as easily done because he’s a lot taller than me and I had to stand on my tippy toes.

“You listen here, Aaron Yan, no word gets out about what you heard okay? Or else I’ll…I’ll…”

“You’ll what?” He asked, amused. “Choke me to death?”

“Somewhat, yes.” I replied meekly and let go of him, embarrassed.

He rolled his eyes and smoothed out his collar again.

“The people will start coming in a few minutes, all the cast is in the back room.”

He started making his way off the stage but I stood there, looking out at the sea of chairs and imaging the huge crowd that would soon fill them.

“What now?” Aaron asked, turning around seeing I wasn’t following him.

“N-nothing.” I replied.

He would think I’m such an amateur if I told him I got stage fright every now and then.

I tore my eyes away and followed him to the back room.

“Gui Gui!” Christina gave me a warm smile and invited me to sit next to her.

Across the table from her were Ting Wei and Xiao Gui.

“I love the way your hair is today!” She grinned. “I think it looks better when it’s all let out and fluffy!”

“And fluffy?” Ting Wei shook his head at Xiao Gui incredulously.

“Thanks!” I replied, smiling. “This girl named Alyssa did it for me.”

“Hey, Gui I think you have some friends wanting to come in.” Andy Ge came in the room, smiling at me.

“Huh?” I wasn’t expecting anyone.

Just then the door burst open.

“Gui Gui!!” I heard Ya Tou first, running over, followed by Apple, Da Ya, Mei Mei, and the rest of Hey Girl and Lollipop.

“Ya Tou, you were supposed to wait until we were all ready to run and count to three!” Apple shook her head.

“Sorry, I thought I heard 3.” Ya Tour replied sheepishly.

“Yeah, we all know Ya Tou’s deaf.” Ah Wei teased.

“Shut up!” Ya Tou growled.

They all laughed.

“You guys!” I laughed, extremely happy they were all here even though I’d just seen them that morning. “You’re all here! Why??”

“To show some love for our favorite little ghost, obviously.” Da Ya replied, laughing.

“AHH!” I yelled and gave them all hugs.

“So are these your friends, Gui?” Christina asked, smiling at them.

“Yeah! Let me introduce you guys!” I pointed to Christina.

“That’s Christina, pretty much my only female co-star, haha. She’s super nice though!”

“That’s Ting Wei, the resident playboy. He plays…well a playboy in the drama too haha.”

“Hey, don’t spoil my reputation, Gui!” Ting Wei interrupted. “And all you pretty ladies must be from Hey Girl.”

He smiled coyly at Da Ya, who looked away, turning red.

“Hey, she’s taken.” Ao Quan purposely put his arm around her.

Da Ya squirmed away.

“Nice to meet you!” She smiled back at him shyly.

“You guys, play nice!” I laughed.

“This is Xiao Gui!” I pointed to him and laughed. “He has the same name I do, how cool is that?”

“Oh Gui, you’re such a dork.” Xiao Man rolled her eyes. “We know who he is! He hosts Yu Le Bai Fen Bai with Show Luo! He’s really cute.”

“Aw shucks.” Xiao Gui grinned. “Nice to meet y’all.”

“And this is-“ I began, turning to Aaron.

“Oh. My. Goodness!” Apple, Mei Mei, Da Ya, and pretty much all the girls squealed.

“Oh-kay I guess I don’t need an introduction for him.” I rolled my eyes.

“That’s not very nice.” Aaron cut in and stood up, coming up behind me.

“I guess I’ll have to introduce myself then.” He flashed a smile at my friends, who looked faint.

“I’m Aaron Yan, nice to meet you all.”

“So you’re Aaron Yan?” Wang Zi suddenly stepped up, away from the others.

“Mhm.” He replied nonchalantly, suddenly placing an easy arm around my shoulders. “Gui Gui’s new co-star.”

Oh. My. God. Everyone noticed. I just held super still, my brain froze for a few seconds there. The atmosphere suddenly dropped a few degrees as Wang Zi stared at his arm and Aaron smirked back at him.

“I think I know who you are.” Aaron said, breaking the silence. “Wang Zi, right?”

He opened his mouth to speak, looking as if he were just slapped across the face.

“Starting!!! Starting in 2 minutes! All of you, people, get out and let the crew get ready, c’mon, file, now!” Andy Ge suddenly popped out of no where.

I have never been more relieved to see him in my life.

In a few pushes and shoves, everyone was gone but I could’ve sworn I saw Ao Quan grip Wang Zi’s arm, leading him out.

As soon as everyone left, Aaron’s arm left my shoulder.

“What was that for?!” I hissed, not wanting Christina and them to overhear.

“What?” He asked innocently.

“He’s going to kill me, what did you make us seem like a couple for?!”

“Oh, I’m sorry, is he the one you had a thing for?” Aaron replied, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

“But-but you knew that was him! You said it yourself!”

“I just wanted to see if he returned your feelings.” He thought for a moment. “I think he does, judging by how jealous he got.”

“Why you little,” I balled up my fists.

“What are you guys hanging around for, let’s go!” Andy Ge yelled at us from across the room.

“Here I am, doing you a favor and I don't even get a thank you? Well, I guess this conversation will have to wait until next time.” Aaron laughed, walking away.

Oh yes, Aaron Yan. We have some unfinished business to attend to.

♥Sweeter ♥Than ♥Chocolate♥ Empty Chapter 10

Post by xxrachi_babexx 9/6/2009, 7:54 pm

I think I'm on a roll with this whole update thing :]
It might be a bit short and crappy but I've consecutively updated for 2 days :DD
Pretty proud of myself Very Happy
Thanks for all the comments I love comments, keep them coming Very Happy
Oh and do you guys want to continue the story focusing on a little:
-more GuiLun scenes
OR
-more GuiWang scenes
?
Of course, there will still be a little of both but I'm thinking right now, it'll be Aaron's turn to fall in love Very Happy
==========================================================================================
Stupid Aaron Yan.

Jerkface.

Retard.

Stupid Butt.

'Here I am, doing you a favor,and I don’t even get a thank you?'

I stomped the floor in frustration and Xiao Gui stared at me.

“Are you ok?” He asked, looking slightly afraid.

Any other day, I would have laughed at his innocence but today was NOT a good day.

“No. I’m not ok.” I managed to reply calmly.

“Oh thank God.” Xiao Gui grinned.

“What? But I just said I’m not ok.”

“Oh, I know but it can’t be that bad because you didn’t yell at me or burst out crying or any other girl stuff like that.” He nodded knowingly. “You see, when girls are REALLY upset, that’s what they do.”

“You’re odd.” I said, shaking my head.

He sighed and wrung his hands out in front of him.

“That’s what Ting Wei told me! He said when a girl shows signs of frustration, you should be sure to approach them carefully, if not at all.”

I laughed. “You’re such a dork. You remind me of….me haha.”

“So really, what’s wrong?” Xiao Gui asked, seriously this time.

“I just...have stage fright.” I made up, although technically that’s true.

“Don’t worry! Everyone gets it, even Aaron does!” He replied comfortingly.

“Aaron Yan? Mr. Perfect?”

Xiao Gui was about to nod when I continued.

“Mr. Stupid Pig Face Jerk Retard! Oh, I’ll bet he gets stage fright alright. I’ll bet he’s just as scared that fans will laugh at him and throw banana peels at his face and think he’s stupid because he’s not all that perfect and amazing and he’s just a big butt!” I ranted a bunch of nonsense.

Strangely I felt better after that.

Xiao Gui looked pretty scared of me at this point.

“Gui Gui?” A voice said behind me.

I didn’t even have to turn to know who that was…he has this nasty habit of sneaking up behind you just when you happen to be talking about him.

“Yes, just the person I wanted to talk to.” I spun around, about to let him have it. “It’s about time you showed up, we have some unfinished business to take care of Aaron Y-“

Wang Zi stood behind me, looking confused.

“Sorry, were you expecting him?”

“Wah-?” I jumped back. “Wang Zi! What are you doing here?”

“Oh, um Da Ya, Ya Tou, and everyone else wanted to tell you to be sure to smile in front of the cameras, don’t hog the mic, and don’t embarrass yourself…and some other stuff too but I forgot.”

He scratched his neck, embarrassed. “They all wanted to come and tell you but if Andy Ge catches them backstage right before the conference they’re all dead so I volunteered.”

“How very brave of you.” I laughed jokingly and he laughed too.

Suddenly it felt like the old times all over again and what Aaron said flashed back through my mind.

'I just wanted to see if he returned your feelings. Judging by how jealous he got, I think he does.'

Maybe he really does.

No! Don’t think like that Gui! You don’t need him or love or heartbreak all over again, remember? You can’t get sucked back. And besides you’re already so totally over love and promised Xiao Xun that she could have him.

“You should go back now, Wang Zi.” I looked away. “It’s starting in a few seconds and I don’t want you to get in trouble with Andy Ge.”

“But I have some things I need to ask you about, Gui.” He replied in his slightly whiny voice.

“You can ask after.” I said hurriedly.

I had a pretty good idea what those ‘some things’ were.

“No I wanna ask now!” He said stubbornly, refusing to budge. “Are you and Aaron Yan going out?”

“What?!” I quickly slapped a hand over his mouth.

“Wang Zi, there are people here, dammit!” I hissed. “You can’t say these sorts of things in PUBLIC, especially when they are absolutely ridiculous!”

“So you’re not?” He asked, moving my hand away from his mouth.

“No, stupid, of course we’re not I’ve only known him for a day and a half!”

“Then he needs to learn how to keep his hands to himself.” Wang Zi growled.

“Do I sense some jealousy here?” I teased.

“Of course not.” Wang Zi replied. “I’m merely looking out for you as a best friend...like I have for, oh only the past 17 years.”

I stuck my tongue out at him. “Whatever.”

Is it just me, or does she seem disappointed? Wang Zi thought to himself. And why did I feel like I was about to tear him apart when he put his hands on her?

Definitely just brotherly love on steroids…yeah that’s it, he convinced himself.

____A Few Minutes Later____

“So how do you guys feel about working with each other?” A busy reporter asked Aaron and Gui Gui.

“Star-struck.” Gui Gui laughed. “It’s crazy.”

“Really?” Aaron asked, turning to her.

“Don’t get a big head.” Gui Gui replied.

“Just look at them, already practicing their couple act for shooting.” Ting Wei commented, laughing.

Gui Gui shot him a dirty look

“Ya Lun, pardon for asking but the fans really want to know what’s going on in your personal life!” Another reporter cut in.

“That’s not really open for asking.” Aaron replied jokingly, trying to divert the question.

“But everyone is just aching to know! Please, just one little bit of info??”

Aaron laughed.

“Um, I’m not really big on relationships right now, I’ve been too busy.”

“So you aren’t open to dating anyone?” The reporter pressed.

“It’s not that I’m not open, it’s just that my schedule has been crazy and I honestly don’t have the time.”

“But that’s just for looking, right? What about new co-stars and your friends? Can’t something blossom from that?”

“Heh, uh, I guess…”

There was an audible gasp from the crowd.

“So there’s a possibility between you and Gui Gui?”

“No, no, of course not. I meant like, nothing is impossible right?”

“So it’s impossible between you and Gui Gui.”

The reporter was annoying.

“Okay I think this conversation is over.” Aaron laughed, and the crowds laughed with him.

Damn this guy had a thing for captivating the audience.

“What about you, Gui Gui?” The reporter, seeing that she was pursuing a lost cause, turned to her.

“Boys must be crazy about you now, after the whole Brown Sugar Macchiato craze and with Hey Girl and what not.”

“I wish.” Gui Gui thought outloud, and then as if realizing she had said it, blushed profusely.

Everyone laughed.

“She’s lying.” Aaron said, smirking. “I know of plenty of boys chasing after her. Right, Gui?”

“So you and Gui Gui are already this close?” The reporter grabbed onto this bit of info as if her life depended on it…which her salary probably did.

“We’ve been getting to know each other.” Aaron replied, flashing a smile. “All to be ready for our roles, of course.”

And with several more nosy questions and billions of flashing lights, the first press conference ended.

♥Sweeter ♥Than ♥Chocolate♥ Empty Chapter 11

Post by xxrachi_babexx 9/6/2009, 7:55 pm

“Oh god he is so beautiful.” Da Ya stated matter of factly.
“Mhm…” Mei Mei agreed, staring dreamily at Aaron. “And so yummy looking too!”

“Gui Gui is such a lucky butt.” Xiao Man glared at me. “How is it that you are so ridiculously lucky? Share some of it with us.”

“Oh god he’s coming over!” Da Ya half whispered as Aaron headed over to us.

Great, what does that pighead want now?

“Hey, Da Ya!” I said playfully. “Aren’t you going to try to touch him?”

“Shut up Gui, he’ll come to me!” Da Ya hissed and made a signal for me to keep my mouth shut.

“Alright, alright.” I said in a dejected voice, although I was secretly very relieved to be able to get away.

My stupid mei mei’s were sure to make a fool of themselves and I didn’t want to be around to roll my eyes.

I began to walk away when,

“Hey, you. Pigtails!” a familiar, arrogant, annoying, stupid voice said behind me.

I kept walking, pretending not to hear.

“Is she deaf too?” I heard him ask Da Ya and them.

They giggled.

“Only sometimes.”

Grr…

I spun around.

“Yah, I am not deaf! And it’s a PONYTAIL!” I yelled at them.

They only laughed which made me angrier.

Narrowing my eyes, I turned the opposite way, only to find Wang Zi and Xiao Xun coming from the other side.

And Xiao Man thinks I’m lucky, I thought bitterly to myself.

Haha, now that was funny.

So who are you gonna choose? Aaron, or Wang Zi, a little voice said inside my head.

I almost laughed to myself.

Let’s see….I’m going to choose neither. I grinned smugly and began walking in a different direction, away from both Mr. Arrogant and Mr. Ex-best friend.

“Hey, I have something to tell you retard, get back here.”

“Who are you calling retard?!” I couldn’t help myself.

Aaron sauntered over, stopping right in front of me.

“I’ll be picking you up at wherever the heck you live tomorrow morning at 8. Be ready, I dislike waiting.”

“And what makes you think she’ll be going with you?” Wang Zi asked, suddenly appearing next to me.

“Yeah, yeah!” I added, inching away from Wang Zi. “I don’t even get up until 10…”

“Shooting starts tomorrow.” Aaron replied cooling, addressing Wang Zi. “So don’t get a big head sweetie, I’m only picking you up because your Andy Ge specifically asked me to. Otherwise, I’d have better things to do.”

“You, me at 8 o’clock, Aaron Yan.” I glared at him, getting a surprised look from Wang Zi “We have some business to settle.”

“Oh, of course we do babe.” He smirked at Wang Zi and then smiled at me. “Looking forward to it.”

With another grin, he walked away, leaving me speechlessly gaping after him.

Is it just me, or had he just managed to twist my words so I sounded like I wanted to….you know, THAT with him?

“AHHH!!!” I screamed out loud.

“Congratulations, Gui.” Xiao Xun appeared behind Wang Zi, who had a stricken look on his face. “You didn’t tell us you guys were going out already.”

“WU YING JIE!!” Da Ya screamed, shaking my shoulders. “You’re going out with Aaron Yan?!!!”

“NO! Ew, that’s-“

“It’s been so obvious though, hasn’t it?” Apple nodded knowingly. “Look at the way they talk to each other, it’s so cute!”

“OhMiGod, Gui!!” Ya Tou pouted. “You PROMISED you’d tell me first if something like this happened!”

“What do you mean ‘something like this’? You guys planned for this to happen??” Wang Zi shouted over the crowd of voices suddenly surrounding us.

“No, no it’s not like that!” I shook my head feverishly. “There is absolutely nothing going on between us, he’s just a big ass!”

“What’s it to you anyways, Wang Zi?” Ya Tou asked meanly. “What’s it to you if Gui Gui goes out with Aaron? He’s ridiculously hot and you already have a girlfriend!”

“I do NOT have a girlfriend!” Wang Zi yelled.

“Excuse me?” Xiao Xun rounded up on him. “What?”

My head was starting to hurt.

“Oh yeah, they totally make a cute couple!”

“If only it was me though!”

“Be happy for Gui Gui!”

“He’s so hot.”

“I call getting his autograph first tomorrow!”

“No me! I’m going to talk to him!”

“Yeah, we should make sure he takes care of our rather stupid little ghost.”

All these voices, then-

“Everyone shut up or I’ll tape your mouths shut with duck tape!!!” I screamed.

Everyone got quiet and stared at me.

“First of all I have not been, am not, and will never go out with that frea- guy Aaron Yan.” I listed in a calm, serious voice. “Second of all if I ever went out with anyone, I’d tell you guys, dammit. And third of all…well I don’t have a third of all but stop asking me all these questions! I don’t plan on dating anyone!! Ever! Well…maybe not ever but just for a really, really long time!”

I paused to get my breath back and everyone was silent for awhile.

See, when I do get in the mood for these pep talk/speeches, everyone listens! I thought to myself smugly.

Then-

“Yeah, yeah Gui,” Mei Mei nodded, raising her eyebrows pointedly at Da Ya. “,whatever you say.”

“She’s such a bad liar!” Xiao Man laughed to Apple.

“Her face was totally going red when he called her ‘babe’!” Apple whispered back.

“That, was my face of fury!” I said loudly. “NOT the retarded look you guys get whenever he comes within 20 feet of you!”

“The guy’s not even that cute.” Ao Quan nodded, reassuring himself. “There’s no way he would lay his hands on any of you ladies.”

“Oh, please let him lay his hands on me next time…” Mei Mei began dreamily.

“Yeah don’t call him cute, that’s insulting!” Da Ya added. “He’s absolutely gorgeous.”

“I didn’t call him cute!” Ao Quan protested. “And I’M gorgeous.”

I sighed and walked away, giving up.

♥Sweeter ♥Than ♥Chocolate♥ Empty Chapter 12

Post by xxrachi_babexx 9/6/2009, 7:55 pm

___That Night___
After a dinner where Andy Ge had invited all of Lollipop and Hey Girl to celebrate the success of the first press conference, I decided, or rather, was pushed to take a little stroll outside.

You know how food is supposed to give you energy?

Maybe it’s just me but I always feel sleepy after I eat…which is why Da Ya and all the girls made me go out for a walk…apparently I needed to ‘get in shape’ for my role…sure, sure Mei Mei was totally about to say “for Aaro-“ before Da Ya stepped on her foot and she yelped.

But I needed some time to myself anyways so I happily agreed.

Today had been interesting.

Aaron Yan was…well definitely less than mature and just thinking about him made me want to kick something….hard. But when I thought back to how he had coached me through the auditions, his experience in acting, and how he had made me feel so calm and gotten me over my initial nervousness…well the guy definitely had a pretty complex character, that’s for sure.

But deep down, I couldn’t help but thank him for the scene with Wang Zi backstage.

“I was just trying to see if he returned your feelings. Judging by how jealous he got, I think he does.”

He had actually helped me think through the whole Wang Zi situation, a lot.

So maybe he is a complete jerk but Wang Zi definitely cared about me…just not in the way I wanted him too.

Oh well. I’m moving on and over love/heartbreak anyways.

A ghost never completely belongs in the human world anyways, right?

I laughed to myself at that little inside joke Ya Tou and I shared.

Sighing, I was just about to go back when I felt two firm hands on my shoulder.

“AHH!” I yelped and jumped around.

“Hahahaha,” Wang Zi laughed “Why is it that every time I see you, you’re always scared or surprised?”

“Well, that might have something to do with the fact that it’s almost 10 at night and someone just grabbed me from behind.” I stated matter of factly.

He shook his head and pulled on my hand, motioning me to sit on the grass with him.

I sat obligingly.

“So…”

“So what?” I asked dumbly.

“First press conference Gui, it’s kinda a big deal.” Wang Zi rolled his eyes.

“Oh.” I thought for a moment. “I didn’t like it.”

“Why not?” He asked, a trace of concern in his voice.

“Because they were so annoying, the papparazi!” I replied, glad to finally have someone to vent to.

“It’s like I’m so new to this! I don’t know anything…and the questions just keep pouring and pouring…they ask about stuff that’s personal, stuff that you don’t WANT to tell anyone, not even fans! But you have to know how to dodge them or they twist your words and ARGH it’s just so complicated! And I hated that reporter! The media’s so much meaner, Wang Zi! It’s not like Channel V where they’ll censor the questions and take care of you and ask your opinion and help you out sometimes, the real world is freaking cruel, that’s what it is!”

“You done?” Wang Zi asked after my long rant.

“Mhm.”

“Okay.”

We sat in silence for a few minutes.

This was always our solution for dealing with problems. We’d rant to one another for as long as we wanted and the other person has to listen. Then after we sit there and calm down for a few minutes, not thinking about anything.

He’d come to me whenever he was pissed off at Ao Quan for touching his stuff, or when he was stressed out about all the fan meetings they had to go to. I’d vent to him whenever I was sick of Mei Mei and Da Ya’s constant naggings for me to beauty up myself, and especially over the whole Da Ya Vs. Tong Tong incident that had affected all of us so much. It had literally torn us apart for a little while there and being the youngest Hey Girl, I was constantly on the verge of a breakdown. It was always Wang Zi that would come to my rescue and talk me through it. If we couldn’t think up any solutions, we’d always just been able to sit and quietly and just…not think about anything at all…just forget about everything.

“You know, I kind of miss this.” Wang Zi finally said, after a good 10 minutes.

“Yeah… me too.” I replied, knowing what he was talking about.

“Tell me why we don’t do things together like we used to, Gui.” He asked.

I was expecting his whiny childish voice that he usually used when he wanted something but instead, his voice was serious and had a tint of hurt to them.

“What?” I stalled for time. “We do do things together Wang Zi, what are you talking about?”

“When was the last time we hung out, just you and me?” He retorted. “The last time we went to a ball game, the last time you’ve dragged me with you to pet shops, pawning over cute little puppies that Da Ya and Ya Tou refuse to let you keep inside the house?”

I couldn’t help but laugh.

“But you hated doing that, silly! You’d always say they smelled bad and yell like a girl when they licked you!”

“Maybe, but it was something we’ve always done Gui.” He replied sadly. “It was almost like a tradition and now we don’t do any of that anymore. You barely even talk to me, it’s like you’re avoiding me.”

“Aw, I’m not avoiding you Wang Zi, don’t look sad!” It hurt to see his sad eyes, it got to me everytime….even though he did break my heart, he was still completely clueless…not to mention my best friend.

I reached out to give him a hug but was surprised when he pulled me into a firm embrace.

“You are too avoiding me, don’t lie.” He growled. “Tell me why.”

“I am not-“

“Tell me.”

“But-“

“Tell me.”

“I-“

“Now.”

“Okay!! It’s because I can’t stand Xiao Xun and how she’s ALWAYS by your side now, happy?!” I yelled, frustrated by his constant interrupting.

I did not just say that.

But it felt better after I did.

“Gui Gui-“ He began in a soft voice.

“No, I don’t care if she’s your girlfriend, I feel weird when I’m around her and you at the same time, okay?”

“She’s not my girlfriend, Gui.”

“I know but-“ I stopped. “Wait what?”

The first time he’d said that, I’d chose to ignore it but I couldn’t ignore it this time.

“I said she’s not my girlfriend.” Wang Zi repeated, staring at me.

“Yes she is.” I stated.

“Nope.”

“So you guys broke up?”

“Gui Gui, we never went out in the first place!”

“Liar.”

Wang Zi sighed.

“What can I do so you’ll believe me?”

“Well she doesn’t seem to think so.” I retorted, annoyed.

“Do I sense jealousy?” Wang Zi teased, just like how I had teased him about Aaron.

“Of course not.” I replied coolly in the same manner. “I’m just looking out for you like I have for…oh the past 17 years.”

But on the inside I screamed.

Of COURSE I am, you idiot! I just confessed my feelings to you and got rejected a few days ago, do you really have that bad of a short-term memory to forget?!

“Well I’m telling you right now that she’s not. She may like me…in a different way than I like her but that’s just it…a little crush that she’ll get over.” Wang Zi said.

Wow that sounded a lot like me. Poor Xiao Xun.

“So from now on, you have absolutely no reason to avoid me and not hang out with me, understand?” He pouted.

“Sure, sure.” I laughed.

“I’m being serious here! Pay attention to me!”

“Okay, Wang Zi,” I replied, trying to keep a straight face. “From now on I, Gui Gui shall have no reason to avoid Wang Zi and not hang out with him.”

“Good.” He said, satisfied.

“-Unless I get a boyfriend.” I added just to piss him off.

“Yah, Gui Gui!!!” He yelled and chased me back to the house.

I think things were pretty much back to normal here. No more problems would arise from the Gui Gui-Wang Zi-Xiao Xun love triangle. I would slowly get over him and see that I valued his friendship more than anything else anyways.

…..Right?

♥Sweeter ♥Than ♥Chocolate♥ Empty Chapter 13

Post by xxrachi_babexx 9/6/2009, 7:56 pm

Woahhhh 15th chapter, my lucky number ;]
I'm experimenting with adding links to pictures for outfits and such, if you find them annoying, don't click on them haha but I find them ridiculously funn :]
This chapter doesn't really go anywhere but it was fun to write some GuiLun interaction :]
&& this is only the start!
Enjoy!
============================================================================================

♥️Next Morning♥️

I can’t believe I’m waking up at 7:00…AM. This, is absolutely ridiculous.

I tiptoed out of the room Ya Tou and I shared, looking jealously at how soundly she was sleeping. This was totally not fair. We never had to do this when filming Brown Sugar!

I sighed.

Well I guess a new job means all new rules.

I donned a rather plain looking outfit:

[http://www.asianpopcorn.com/Themes/Images_other/20090426200450.jpg]

…I mean we would change for filming anyways so it didn’t really matter.

I slowly crept downstairs, hoping no one would hear me and I wouldn’t wake anyone up…the girls were usually extremely cranky in the mornings…especially early mornings.

I went to the kitchen and took out a glass, pouring myself some orange juice and popped some pizza rolls in the microwave.

Mmmh…perfect start to my morning.

“No, that’s definitely a no-no.”

A voice suddenly said and a hand reached out to close the microwave door.

“YAH!” I jumped.

“Gui Gui!” Mei Mei whined. “How are we supposed to make you look good if you can’t even follow the basics of a diet?”

“Yeah, seriously.” Da Ya added. “Do you KNOW how many carbs those…THINGS have??”

“Oh my god you guys scared the crap out of me!” I whispered so I wouldn’t wake anyone else up. “Why are you up so early?”

“To meet our prince charming of course.” Mei Mei grinned. “We ESPECIALLY woke up early today!”

“You guys are complete and utter idiots.” I muttered.

“Hey, just because you’ll get to see him everyday doesn’t mean he’s not woo-worthy to the everyday people like us.” Da Ya complained.

“Oh, I wouldn’t call you just a normal everyday person.” Ao Quan suddenly popped out of no where and grinned shyly at Da Ya.

“Why is this idiot here too?” I asked, already too tired for shock.

“Oh, he wanted to ‘make sure’ Aaron wouldn’t do anything ungentlemanly to me.” Da Ya rolled her eyes at him. “As if. Aaron Yan is about as much of a gentleman as you can GET.”

“Sure, sure.” I muttered under my breath. “Just wait until you get to know him.”

I opened the microwave again, only to have it slammed shut by Mei Mei.

“Gui Gui, didn’t you hear a thing we said?” She asked angrily. “No pizza rolls!”

“Stop fooling around!” I growled, annoyed. “It’s almost 8 and I haven’t even eaten breakfast yet!”

“That’s why we took the liberty of making a nice, healthy, CARB-FREE breakfast for our little ghost.” Da Ya answered proudly.

“Oh boy.” I said unenthusiastically.

“Hey, we woke up especially early just to make it for you!” Mei Mei said, leading me to the dining room and gesturing at a plate of fried eggs, a protein milkshake and a bowl of…

“What the heck is that?” I asked pointing at the:

[https://2img.net/h/i158.photobucket.com/albums/t105/nicotril/HealthyBreakfast.jpg]

“Oh, it’s our new recipe.” Da Ya replied cheerfully, already sitting down. “It’s a mix of cut bananas, sliced strawberries, hand-picked organic blueberries, topped on sugar-free granola bits.”

“I lost you after the strawberries part.” I replied and poked at it with my spoon. “I’m actually supposed to eat this?”

“Gui Gui!!” Da Ya and Mei Mei both scowled.

“Okay, okay.” I muttered and began eating the banana.

Just then the door bell rang.

“Damn this guy’s good it’s 7:59…which means by the time Da Ya gets to the door it’ll be 8:00…” I shook my head in disbelief.

“Mei Mei, hurry!” Da Ya ran to the door as Mei Mei grabbed Ao Quan’s two arms and pulled him to the nearby closet.

“Hey, what are you-“

BOOM

The closet door shut and the only sounds that could be heard were muffled pounds on the door.

Mei Mei grinned mischievously.

“Did you just-?” I asked in disbelief.

“Yup.” Mei Mei nodded.

“Classic.” I laughed.

Da Ya could be heard talking at the door.

“Oh yeah she’s awake, why don’t you come in and have some breakfast, shooting doesn’t even start until later…come on!”

“Great.” I sighed.

Mei Mei began furiously patting her hair and tried to look normal…as if she hadn’t been waiting for him the whole morning.

“See, Gui Gui and Mei Mei are already having breakfast.” She said cheerfully, leading Aaron into the dining room.

He was also casually dressed, but still looked as perfect as always, despite the ungodly hour:

[http://img3.ak.crunchyroll.com/i/spire1/fa5006c228428c603f852a812ea662c61231115840_full.jpg]

I felt kind of dumb that I didn’t bother to put on any makeup whatsoever. I didn’t want to bother if they were just going to fix it on set…and besides I was too tiredddddd!

“Your friends look like they’re ready to go out and you look like you’re ready to go to bed.” He stated, after noticing me.

I scowled but held in my cutting remark.

Da Ya and Mei Mei giggled but I had to admit, they did look good today.

Da Ya:
[http://img1.ak.crunchyroll.com/i/spire3/09252008/7/e/6/2/7e6281ab437a00_full.jpg]

Mei Mei:

“Good morning to you too.” I replied instead and went back to eating

That’s weird, she kind of looks ok without makeup, Aaron thought to himself. I mean, not a real beauty or anything but she looks decent.

“Here are some things we were making for breakfast.” Da Ya smiled, coming out of the kitchen holding this ginormous tray of breakfast items and setting them carefully on the table:

[http://www.impactlab.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/big-breakfast-67.jpg]

“Wow, I see you guys like cooking.” Aaron grinned at her. “You must have spent a lot of time on this.”

“Oh, no no.” Mei Mei replied shyly. “It’s just something we dug up.”

“Not fair!” I yelled. “You give me this…thing and feed him like a pig?!”

“It’s for your own health Gui Gui.” Da Ya answered sternly. “You don’t need anymore than that to keep you healthy and going.”

“But-“

“Do you know how to cook, Gui Gui?” Aaron asked suddenly.

Dammit, leave it to him to find my weak points.

“Uh…”

“Gui Gui?” Mei Mei and Da Ya laughed. “Cook?”

“Only if we want the house burned down.” They laughed.

“Hey!” I protested. “It’s not that bad. The eggs from last time turned out decent.”

“Decent?” Mei Mei asked incredulously. “They were hardly edible, poor Ya Tou had to try it and she couldn’t chew through the first bite!”

“Well that was the stove’s fault, it didn’t cook right.” I replied defensively. “It was broken.”

Aaron snorted.

“She could probably burn water if she wanted to.” Da Ya said, thoughtfully.

“If anyone could do it, it would probably be her.” Aaron agreed.

“Shut up.” I growled. “At least I CAN cook. Can you, Mr. Aaron Yan Ya Lun Know-It-All?”

“Of course.” He replied. “My parents sent me to France when I was in high school for 2 years and I learned all the deserts and French cuisine…it’s delicious but quite fattening.”

I ground my teeth together and stabbed at a piece of strawberry with my fork.

Was there anything he COULDN’T do?

“That’s so cool!” Mei Mei squealed. “I’ve always wanted to learn French cuisine!”

“Well maybe sometime I can teach you.” Aaron smiled at her warmly.

I could literally hear her heart beating.

“Oh jesus.” I muttered and pushed back my chair. “I’m done, you can get out of my house now.”

“Gui Gui!” Da Ya scowled at me. “How rude. He’s not even done eating yet!”

“Well I’m sure he’s already had all sorts of nice things to eat before he came so we can LEAVE now.” I glared at Aaron pointedly and he smirked.

“She’s right, shooting’s going to start soon and the director is always so picky about timing so maybe next time.”

“Oh of course.” Mei Mei and Da Ya grinned at him stupidly.

“There won’t be a next time.” I muttered under my breath but Aaron heard and a grin pulled at the corners of his mouth.

“It was a great breakfast, thank you.” He said politely and smiled, taking his jacket.

“Okay, leave!” I pushed him out the door.

“When are you guys going to let me out?!” Ao Quan’s muffled voice could be heard a few feet away.

“What was-“ Aaron began, looking at the closet oddly.

“Nothing!” Da Ya put on a super bright smile and gave Mei Mei a pointed look. “I’ll send you guys out.”

“Good luck, Gui!” Mei Mei yelled.

“Bye!” I yelled back and nearly tripped over the door hedge, looking for something to grab onto and finding Aaron’s arm.

“Well hello.” He smirked, trying to keep a straight face.

“Shut up.” I groaned. “So I trip sometimes, so what?”

“Do you only trip SOMETIMES? It feels to me like you trip VERY often.”

“Shut. Up.”

“Haha.”

“I’m warning you, I’m extremely sensitive in the mornings, don’t push me.”

“But I didn’t push you Gui Gui, you did that all on your own.”

“You little-“

“Bye Da Ya, Mei Mei.” Aaron interrupted. “Thanks again!”

Da Ya smiled big and waved feverishly.

Goodness.
